    Program Description:

    The MBA 1-Years program is intended for those students who have already completed 16 year of education with a degree in Business Administration i.e., 4-years BBA Honors program or 2-years MBA program.

    This program has a purely practical orientation. It consists of 4 core courses, 4 electives and a comprehensive MBA project. All the courses are taught through interactive class discussions with a focus on real life management problems, case studies, and practical exercises. The MBA project also provides students an opportunity to synthesize and holistically apply the concepts learnt and skills developed during the MBA program to real life situations.

    This MBA program is designed to provide the necessary skills and knowledge needed by the leaders in today’s organizations. This includes the ability to critically analyze the problems, to develop creative but practical solutions, to communicate clearly and to respond to business challenges and uncertainty with integrity.

    MBA 1-years program provides the knowledge and real-world experience needed for entry level management positions in business, government and not-for-profit organizations.

    MBA Concentrations:

    This MBA program offers the students an opportunity to hone their management skills in a particular area of their interest. There are four concentrations available to the MBA students; each concentration offers it own set of benefits and career opportunities. The areas of concentration are;

    1. Marketing
    2. Finance
    3. Human Resource Management
    4. Banking & Finance

    Each concentration consists of four courses and provides in-depth knowledge to the students about that particular field of management.

    Project Work:

    After completing their course work, students work on a project. The project requires each student to use their knowledge and leadership skills to develop a new venture plan or tackle an important challenge faced by a real organization.

    Students work on project in groups of 4-5 students each. Each group prepares a project proposal and has it approved by the project supervisor. The project focuses on managerial planning, decision making and problem solving in organizational context.

    Although each project is unique, each group develops a detailed project proposal, define goals and objectives, conducts primary and secondary research as needed, perform quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, develop and test solutions, formulate options and recommendations, produce a written report, and deliver a final oral presentation

    Eligibility:

    All students entering the 1-year MBA program must have completed 16 years of education with an under graduate or graduate degree in Business Administrations. The most eligible qualifications for admissions are;

  • Four years Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA Hons)
  • MBA (16 years)
  • The students must have attained a minimum CGPA 2.5 in the relevant degree program.

    Admissions:

    A variety of factors, both academic and personal, are considered while awarding admission to the students. The factors considered are academic ability, enthusiasm for intellectual challenge and managerial and leadership potential. Academic ability is assessed on the basis of past academic grades and performance in GIFT Comprehensive Admissions Test (GCAT). Personal factors are judged through a personal interview conducted by the admissions committee.
