Department Infrastructure:

 

The department is equipped with the following state of the art fully air conditioned Kitchen and Labs, which are professionally designed to perform different tasks.

  • Food & Nutrition Lab: The lab is equipped with state of the art kitchen and classroom. Various components of cooking, baking and hygiene studies are carried out on latest equipments. 
  • Art & Design Lab: Drawing, Design elements, Fashion Sketching & Illustration assignments are carried out in Design Labs.
  • Textile & Clothing Lab: Pattern making, Cutting, Sewing, Fabric Dyeing, Printing and Textile developments are carried out in Textile lab. 
  • Home Management and Interior Design lab: The lab equipped with modern facilities to exercise the technical and aesthetics concepts of Interior design.
  • Digital Lab: Equipped with sophisticated computer hardware to carryout multiple Computer Aided Design (CAD) task, including Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw.

  • Bachelor of Design (Hons) Textile and Fashion (Credits Hours will be transferred to the Hons program, and students will complete her degree in two years as a regular student).

Admission in Bachelor of Design (Hons) Textile and Fashion (B.Des)

 

The AD home economics students shall be able to complete AD Home Economics and B.Des in total 4 years of studies. After completing AD. Home Economics studies in 2 years, they will get Associate Degree (B.Sc) and their credit hours will be shifted to the B.Des ( Hons) program.  They will complete B.Des program in next 2 year of studies and shall be able to earn Bachelor of Design (Hons) Textile and Fashion (B.Des).

  • Applicants who have passed intermediate or equivalent examination with one or more home economics subjects with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.
  • Applicants who have passed intermediate or equivalent examination with science subjects (e.g. pre medical & pre engineering) with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.

Minimum Eligibility:

 
  • Applicants who have passed intermediate or equivalent examination with one or more home economics subjects with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.
  • Applicants who have passed intermediate or equivalent examination with science subjects (e.g. pre medical & pre engineering) with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.
  • Applicants, who have passed intermediate or equivalent examination with simple FA excluding Home Economics subjects, will be required to take Makeup subjects along with regular courses. No additional Fee will be charged for these additional courses. The minimum aggregate marks will be 45%.

The Admission Office at GIFT University deals with the enquiries concerning admissions. The prospective candidates are advised to consult this office during working hours of the University.

 

General Criteria to Apply

  • The candidate fulfills the eligibility conditions of the program.
  • The candidate must have earned the eligibility qualification from a recognized educational institution.
  • Good proficiency in English language.
  • The candidate has not been debarred on disciplinary grounds during his earlier educational career.

Admission Application

  • Applications for admissions are invited through advertisement in the media. The prospective candidates are advised to obtain the University Prospectus, Application Form and Admission Schedule from the Admissions Office. They may make queries to the officer on duty for further information.
  • Admission Application should be submitted together with all required documents within the prescribed time limit in the Student Affairs Centre Admissions Office.
  • Online Applicants can apply just by filling the required fields of Online Application Form. Their documents will be verified at the day of admissions test and interview.
  • After admission test and interview, the Admission Committee will advise the successful candidates to deposit fee and other dues in the Accounts Office within the specified time limit.
  • On payment of fee and dues, the Accounts Office will issue the Registration Number to the candidate. at least two days prior to the commencement of the semester.
