GIFT University is the 4th ETS (Educational Testing Service) Authorized TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language) iBT Center in Pakistan. Gujranwala has thus become the 4th city, after Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad, to have the facility of online TOEFL Test. This is another major contribution to the development of the region. The center facilitates the candidates of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and surrounding areas who want to appear in the TOEFL test. Previously these candidates had to travel long distances to appear in the English language proficiency tests at centers in Lahore or Islamabad.
The purpose of TOEFL is to evaluate English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. TOEFL scores are required for more than 6,000 colleges and universities worldwide. In addition, government agencies, scholarship programs, embassies' visa services and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.
GIFT University is working with ETS to offer other academic proficiency tests to candidates in Gujranwala region. The University expects that tests like GRE, SAT, etc. will soon be available at its center.
