M.S Computer Science
Graduate Studies in Computer Science focus on advance topics in computer systems, computer architecture, algorithms and software engineering. This program is designed to impart specialized and in depth knowledge in selected areas. Students will learn essential techniques needed to become highly skilled researchers and IT Professionals in order to conduct research in new dimensions to develop complex systems.
Main Features
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for research and development (R&D) in new and upcoming computing and communication technologies. After completion of this program a student can enter into a Ph.D. program. Students have the option to do a Master's thesis or a project under the supervision of a faculty advisor.
The prime objectives of MS program are:
To promote research and development activities, and contribute in scientific innovations and publications.
To prepare highly specialized scholars, professionals, researchers and expertise to meet the industrial development needs and job market.
To contribute in future scientific and technical advancement in the areas of computer science, software engineering and information technology.
To create solutions for the persistent IT related problems through a higher level of applied research and technology transfer.
To provide graduate students with skills, means, and training in methodology and scientific approaches necessary for distinguished professionals in IT sectors.
Program Description
This program offers two options, thesis or non-thesis, to complete the degree requirements. Students interested in further studies are encouraged to pursue the thesis option.
The non-thesis option allows the student to take a broader selection of courses and to concentrate on a significant project rather than on an original research. Many students with entrepreneurial aspirations select the non-thesis option as a means of developing software for industry. Students have found rewarding employment regardless of the option they have chosen.
Graduates from this program will be able to work as researchers and developers to design and develop innovative and complex multi tier systems.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor degree with 16 years of education or Masters degree with 16 years of education in Computer Science or Information Technology from HEC recognized university.
