The primary mission of Faculty of Accounting and Finance is to teach modern techniques and to conduct independent research so as to advance, transmit and sustain knowledge and applications in the field of accounting, auditing, accounting information system, taxation, finance and other related disciplines. In order to meet the challenges of the millennium it fosters and inculcates the intellectuals in parameters to balance competitive quality of strategic financial planning.

Program Description
A combination of business skills and financial knowledge is an important pre-requisite to a fast-track career in either finance or management. The modern accounting and finance professional is part of a management team and needs more than technical skills to fulfill this role.
The M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance degree program is a professional program designed to provide advanced, specialized training in accounting and finance. It is the result of intensive discussions with scholars, prospective employers and the professionals. This unique program is suitable for those wishing to enhance their prospects for rise in their careers in financial reporting, taxation, management accounting, corporate law, corporate finance, investment and risk management and managerial interpersonal & negotiation skills. One of the very significant features of this program is extensive purpose based and regularly monitored internship, which gives students, an in-depth knowledge about the real time application of theoretical concepts along with immense exposure of business environment and practices.
Areas of Specialization
M.Sc. Accounting and Finance program offers 2 different tracks of specialization to satisfy the students specific needs and career orientations. Each module of specialization seeks to enhance students' knowledge and competence in a specific area of Accounting & Finance. Students may opt to select their area of specialization from the following available streams:
Professional Accounting
Banking and Finance (with emphasis on Commercial Banking, Islamic Banking and Anti-Money Laundering)
Eligibility Criteria
The University welcomes applications from students who have successfully completed their 14 years of education. The more specific criteria follow:
Graduation either in Commerce or Business Administration
B.A. / B.Sc. either in Math, Stat or Economics
Any other equivalent grade 14 degree approved by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The students holding either of the above mentioned degrees are required to appear in a test designed by the University. The short listed candidates are interviewed and students clearing that interview are selected after an interview.
Duration of M.Sc. Accounting and Finance is one year for those students who have completed B.Sc. (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from GIFT University.
However, students with professional qualification or those with 16 years of education in a relevant area are eligible to claim exemption for the courses completed. Generally, they will complete the degree in 2.5 years.
