Rector's Message Acquisition of knowledge is mandatory on all Muslims. The first word that was revealed to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was "iqra", which means "read". Nations that lack in the development of high quality institutions of contemporary education and research also fail to achieve economic prosperity for their people. GIFT University was established in 2002 with a vision "to bring about a change in society by becoming a leading educational and research institution that utilizes the latest technology and provides intellectually stimulating, professionally relevant and progressive and innovative education that is consistent with our national values and is accessible to all". We have embarked upon the journey to achieve this vision and made considerable progress in a number of areas. This is due mainly to the strenuous efforts of a team of committed and competent faculty and management. You will be pleased to know that GIFT University has now been upgraded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to the highest possible category "W" (old category "A") applicable to universities in Pakistan. Consequently, GIFT University is now among the top universities of the country. We are currently offering programs in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Textile and Fashion Design, and English Language and Literature. We are also offering an MBA program in the evening. As the time progresses, there will be more additions to the programs offered by GIFT University, including programs in Law, Information Technology and Telecommunications.
