Program Description:

Islamic finance has emerged as an effective tool for financing development worldwide, including in non-Muslim countries. The Islamic finance industry has expanded rapidly over the past decade, growing at 10-12% annually. The growing market of Islamic Banking, business and Finance creates a high need for Islamic scholars who are equipped with the basic knowledge of business and economics and who are able to address the ongoing challenges faced to this market. To achieve these aims we offer a curriculum that is driven by leading edge research in business and economics, in Islamic perspective and the future needs of business, industry and our relevant professional bodies. This new BS Degree introduced by GIFT, is designed to produce graduates with well-developed business knowledge and a mix of skills and abilities that will enable you to adapt to change with future challenges, and to contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of your community

 

Program Objectives

  • To cater the growing demand for human resources in the area of Islamic business and economics by the industry, and academia.
  • To enable students to evaluate the nature and scope of the Islamic business, finance industry in relation to its conventional counterpart.
  • To produce competent graduates with the knowledge of Shariah, Business, Accounting, Economics, Micro-finance, Corporate Finance, Legal Shariah and Social Issues.
  • To prepare young economists to utilize research work in the specified area of their expertise and apply the Shariah based knowledge in business, economy, banking and financial sector.
 

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

The University welcomes applications from students who have successfully completed up to Grade 12 schooling with minimum of 45% score. The more specific criteria follow:

  • Relevant level NTS test is also acceptable for admissions
  • FSc (Pre-Engineering / Pre-Medical)
  • Intermediate with Arts or General Science or Commerce
  • Advanced Levels (A’ Levels)
  • Any other equivalent grade 12 degree approved by the Ministry of Education.

Enquiries

The Admission Office at GIFT University deals with the enquiries concerning admissions. The prospective candidates are advised to consult this office during working hours of the University.

 

General Criteria to Apply

  • The candidate fulfills the eligibility conditions of the program.
  • The candidate must have earned the eligibility qualification from a recognized educational institution.
  • Good proficiency in English language.
  • The candidate has not been debarred on disciplinary grounds during his earlier educational career.
 

Admission Application

  • Applications for admissions are invited through advertisement in the media. The prospective candidates are advised to obtain the University Prospectus, Application Form and Admission Schedule from the Admissions Office. They may make queries to the officer on duty for further information.
  • Admission Application should be submitted together with all required documents within the prescribed time limit in the Student Affairs Centre Admissions Office.
  • Online Applicants can apply just by filling the required fields of Online Application Form. Their documents will be verified at the day of admissions test and interview.
  • After admission test and interview, the Admission Committee will advise the successful candidates to deposit fee and other dues in the Accounts Office within the specified time limit.
  • On payment of fee and dues, the Accounts Office will issue the Registration Number to the candidate. at least two days prior to the commencement of the semester.
