Program Description:

The goal of the four-year program leading to BS degree is to prepare the students in the versatile areas of Accounting & Finance. The program accomplishes this task by offering a broad range of course work, emphasizing and developing critical skills in the students and providing students with real work experience through social work, real time projects and internships. Accountancy, strategic financial management, technology, business laws and ethics, e-business, management techniques, critical thinking, problem solving, research methods and statistical analysis are the main components of the curriculum.

 

Program Objectives:

The goals of the four-year program leading to BS degree are 

  • to prepare the students in the versatile areas of Accounting & Finance
  • enable them to understand the numbers behind any business activity through leverage assets, manage budgets, achieve financial efficiencies, and maximize investments
  • enable them to peruse a dynamic and exiting career as accountants or finance professionals in any business sector like banking, insurance, investment and financial services
  • to create analytical and decision-making skills in an increasingly complex global environment.
  • To strong foundation in accounting and finance;
  • Generates capability to concentrate in the major field of interest;
  • Develops innovative skills to handle independent projects;
  • Widens intellectual horizon to pursue further studies in the area of specialization.
  • Detailed preparation and training for ACCA qualification. The syllabus is intended to progressively widen and deepen the knowledge, skills and professional values as ACCA syllabus. ACCA has granted exemption of 4 papers (F-1 to F-4) and the syllabus not only covers all the papers of ACCA at the knowledge and skills module level but also wraps two papers of professional level. More specifically syllabus completely covers 11 papers of ACCA out of 14 papers.
  • Detailed preparation and training for CFA Level I qualification. The syllabus is designed to progressively broaden and deepen the knowledge, skills and professional values as per the requirement of CFA Level I. The syllabus completely covers all modules of CFA Level I.
  • Comprehensively covers 12 papers out of 20 papers for CA program.
  • Comprehensive preparation of 17 papers out of 21 papers for CMA program.
  • Complete coverage of PIPFA program.

Eligibility Criteria

The University welcomes applications from students who have successfully completed up to Grade 12 schooling with minimum of 50% score. The more specific criteria follow:

  • FSC (Pre-Engineering / Pre-Medical)
  • Intermediate with Arts or General Science or Commerce
  • Advanced Levels (A’ Levels)
  • Any other equivalent grade 12 degree approved by the Ministry of Education.
 

Admissions Criteria:

  • Admission will be based upon the previous academic performance
  • Merit will be determined according to the following formula:

Metric 20%, Intermediate 50%, Test 30 %.

Enquiries

The Admission Office at GIFT University deals with the enquiries concerning admissions. The prospective candidates are advised to consult this office during working hours of the University.

 

General Criteria to Apply

  • The candidate fulfills the eligibility conditions of the program.
  • The candidate must have earned the eligibility qualification from a recognized educational institution.
  • Good proficiency in English language.
  • The candidate has not been debarred on disciplinary grounds during his earlier educational career.
 

Admission Application

  • Applications for admissions are invited through advertisement in the media. The prospective candidates are advised to obtain the University Prospectus, Application Form and Admission Schedule from the Admissions Office. They may make queries to the officer on duty for further information.
  • Admission Application should be submitted together with all required documents within the prescribed time limit in the Student Affairs Centre Admissions Office.
  • Online Applicants can apply just by filling the required fields of Online Application Form. Their documents will be verified at the day of admissions test and interview.
  • After admission test and interview, the Admission Committee will advise the successful candidates to deposit fee and other dues in the Accounts Office within the specified time limit.
  • On payment of fee and dues, the Accounts Office will issue the Registration Number to the candidate. at least two days prior to the commencement of the semester.
